News: Repo Man Takes Car ... With Kid in Back Seat |
Every repo man knows the basic rule:
Always check the trunk. But a repo man in Lead, S.D., should have
checked the back seat.
A 4-year-old girl got the ride of her young life Wednesday when a repo
man repossessed her mother's RV while the child slept in the back
of the RV, the Black Hills Pioneer reports.
The girl's mother called police when she found her RV missing from a
parking lot, but an investigation quickly discovered that the
RV had been repossessed, said Lead Police Chief John Wainman, who
declined to give the names of the girl, the mother or the repossession
company.
The girl was returned, the repossessed RV was not.
Wainman noted that the repo man did not do a thorough investigation of
the vehicle before repossessing it.

News: Wife's Ashes Stolen from Recreational Vehicle |
A widower is asking for the return of
his wife's ashes, which were stolen from his recreational vehicle in
West Memphis.
Police say a fire safe was stolen from the vehicle some time between
Saturday and Wednesday. The owner, John Elliot of West Memphis, says
there was nothing of value in the safe - just documents and the ashes.
He says he's afraid the thief will throw out the ashes and that he
wants them back - no questions asked.
Elliot says he has a home at Horseshoe Lake but travels in the RV full
time.
West Memphis police are investigating and ask anyone with information
about the theft to call authorities.

News: Am I Being Repossessed? |
A Baltimore Maryland man was
surprised when he woke as the motor home he was sleeping in was being
repossessed. He knew something was wrong when he woke up and looked
out the window and saw that he was moving.
When the repossessor stopped at a red
light the man exited the recreational vehicle, ran up to the tow truck
and tried to drag the repossessor out of his tow truck.
The repossessor drove straight to the
police station to sort out the mess. The man was arrested after
marijuana and an illegal handgun were found inside the repossessed
recreational vehicle.

A repossessor in North Las Vegas
Nevada found several shotguns, three hand grenades, and miscellaneous
explosives inside a RV that was repossessed early Tuesday morning.
The repossessor took the items to the
North Las Vegas Police department. An investigation has been started
and charges are expected to be filed by the end of the week.
